Crafted in Spokane, WA, USA, this guard is made from ⅛" thick, veg-tanned cowhide and sealed with Neatsfoot oil, offering two color options: brown or natural cowhide (color may vary from photos). The guard is specifically tailored to fit the handle of your axe, ensuring a secure and snug fit.

The size of the guard will vary depending on the size of your axe, with smaller axes generally having smaller and shorter guards. If the guard does not fit perfectly, you can moisten it and tighten it onto the axe handle, allowing the leather to take the shape of your axe as it dries. The guard comes with a 2 ½ foot length of leather lace, which can be used to lace the guard onto the handle. Alternatively, you can use para-cord, shoelaces, or other lacing materials, but be cautious not to pull the lace too tightly, as the leather can tear.

If you have a sheath for your axe with a strap that loops around the back of the handle, you may need to slightly stretch the strap to fit the guard. This can be done without moistening the strap, but if necessary, you can moisten it slightly and stretch it until it snaps into position, allowing it to dry in this form.

When ordering a holster for your axe, it is recommended to go up one size, unless you are already getting a size large holster. This will ensure a proper fit with the added axe handle guard.
